VISITS
NARRATIVE SCULPTURES AT THE SINGAPORE ART MUSEUM

On
February 16th, 2006, Mr SR Nathan, President of
Singapore visited S. Nandagopal’s solo exhibition,
Narrative Sculptures at the Singapore
Art Museum. This after acknowledging S. Nadagopal
sculptures in his speech during a state banquet
in honours of His Excellency, Dr A P Abdul Kalam,
President of the Republic of India. |

Centred
on Indian Mythology, S. Nandagopal’s works combine
traditional elements with contemporary styles, giving
Indian sculptures a fresh interpretation.
The exhibition at the Singapore has
been extended to the 22nd of February, after which,
it will be moved to Gajah Gallery, MICA Building 140
Hill Street #01-08, Singapore.

An
exhibition of 19 bronze sculptures
by Indian sculptor, S. Nandagopal
'Narrative Sculptures' will be
the first extensive showing of an Indian sculptor's works
in a museum internationally.
A collection
of 19 of Nandagopal's award winning sculptures will be on
show from 9th to 19th of February 2006 at the museum. His
bronze works of art combine the rich tradition of India with
contemporary practices, giving Indian sculpture a modern revival.
Nandagopal's iridescent pieces, meticulously planned and crafted,
fuse the dynamics of physics with the artistic sensibilities
of modern art.
